Pilogel & Bentonite is a premium quality, selectively mined natural Sodium Bentonite with a high Montmorillonite content. Imported directly from the renowned Ashapura Group of Industries in India, this product is produced under strictly controlled conditions to ensure consistent quality.

It is a highly plastic clay derived mainly from smectite minerals (formed by the decomposition of volcanic ash or tuff). It is characterized by its ability to shrink or swell significantly in response to water levels.

Technical Description

What is Pilogel & Bentonite?
It is an absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. Historically named by Wilbur C. Knight in 1898 after the Cretaceous Benton Shale near Rock River, Wyoming, bentonite usually forms from the weathering of volcanic ash.

For industrial purposes, it is categorized mainly into Sodium Bentonite (high swelling) and Calcium Bentonite. Pilogel is a high-grade Sodium Bentonite designed with well-balanced rheological properties.

Preparation & Handling

Mixing Instructions:
Simply mix the powder with water using an efficient mixer. Ensure the mixture is slow and uniform throughout the system. The product is ready to use within 5 to 10 minutes after mixing.
