Bitumen-Polymer Prime Coating | High-Performance
Key Features & Benefits
Superior Adhesion: Creates an unbreakable bond between the substrate and subsequent waterproofing layers.Quick-Drying: Fast curing (2–4 hours) reduces project downtime, allowing for same-day application of membranes.Deep Penetration: Low viscosity allows it to seep deep into concrete pores, sealing dust and strengthening the surface.Corrosion Inhibitor: Excellent for metal pipes and tanks; it prevents rust and extends the lifespan of steel structures.Polymer-Modified Flexibility: superior resistance to cracking, aging, and temperature fluctuations compared to traditional primers.
Universal Application: Works perfectly on concrete, metal, wood, brick, asbestos cement, and old bituminous surfaces.
Primary Applications
This versatile primer is essential for:
-
Roofing: Pre-treatment before installing roll-fed bituminous membranes (torch-on) or liquid waterproofing.
-
Foundations & Basements: Preparing concrete walls for damp-proofing.
-
Metal Protection: Coating pipelines, storage tanks, and structural steel to prevent oxidation.
-
Civil Engineering: Waterproofing bridge decks, tunnels, and road structures.
-
Renovation: Restoring adhesion on old, weathered bitumen surfaces.

Application Guide
1. Surface Preparation:
-
Concrete/Masonry: Surface must be clean, dry (or slightly damp), and free of dust, oil, and loose debris.
-
Metal: Remove all rust and scale using a wire brush or sandblasting.
2. Application:
-
Stir: Mix the primer thoroughly in the bucket before use.
-
Tools: Apply using a roofing brush, roller, or airless spray.
-
Coverage: Apply a thin, even coat. Do not allow the primer to pool.
-
Consumption: Approximately 1 kg covers 3–4 square meters (approx 0.25–0.35 kg/m ²).
3. Drying:
-
Allow to dry for 2–4 hours or until the surface is no longer tacky. Once dry, apply the waterproofing membrane or mastic immediately to prevent dust contamination.
Storage & Safety
-
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Shelf life is 12 months in unopened packaging.
-
Safety: This product is solvent-based and flammable.
-
Use in well-ventilated areas.
-
Wear protective gloves and goggles.
-
Keep away from open flames and sparks.

Why Choose Polymer-Modified?
Standard bitumen primers can be brittle and slow to dry. Bitumen-Polymer Prime Coating contains elastic polymers that allow the primer to expand and contract with the building, preventing cracks. It dries faster and grips harder, guaranteeing your expensive waterproofing membranes stay attached for years to come.
