Uses

Cebex 100 is a specially formulated admixture for cementitious grouts where a reduced water/cement ratio and controlled positive expansion are required. Ideal applications include:

• Bed grouting

Description

Cebex 100 is a plasticised expanding grout admixture supplied as a powder, combining a plasticising agent and a gas-producing expansion medium. The plasticiser allows reduced water/cement ratios, increasing strength and durability, while the expansive medium counteracts natural settlement and plastic shrinkage, ensuring stability and cohesion.

Performance Specification

• All grouting (specify details and areas of application) must use a cement-based grout with a plasticised, expanding powder admixture.

• The admixture must be iron-free, chloride-free, and added at 225 g per 50 kg of cement.

• Provides up to 4% expansion in plastic grout via a gaseous system.

• Must be stored, handled, and mixed according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Supplier Specification

• All grouting must be carried out using Cebex 100, manufactured by Fosroc / FortiMix BD Construction, applied in strict accordance with the technical datasheet.

Application Instructions

Mixing

• Mechanically powered grout mixers are recommended.

• For ≤50 kg quantities, a slow-speed drill with high-shear paddle is suitable; larger quantities require a drum mixer.

• Measure water accurately and add cement (and sand if required) slowly to Cebex 100.

• Mix for 5 minutes until a smooth, even consistency is achieved.

Application

• Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, and pre-wetted.

• Minimise unrestrained surface area.

• Place grout within 20 minutes of mixing to maximise expansion benefits.

• Use continuous placing or pumping procedures for best results.

Curing

• Exposed areas not to be cut back should be cured thoroughly using water, curing membrane, or wet hessian.

Packaging & Storage

• Supplied in 225 g and 25 kg packs.

• Shelf life: 6 months when stored dry in original packaging. High temperature or humidity may reduce shelf life.
