20°C unless otherwise stated. Clarification of property values: The typical properties given above are derived from laboratory testing. Results derived from field applied samples may vary.
Description & Uses
Fosroc Renderoc FC is a ready-to-use blend requiring only the addition of clean water. It is designed for vertical and overhead use to infill honeycombing and voids.
-
Primary Use: To produce a fair-faced appearance on concrete or masonry surfaces in preparation for protective or decorative coatings.
-
Application Depth: Fills surface imperfections up to 3 mm. Deeper voids should be filled in a prior operation or using Renderoc RP252.
-
Compatibility: Fully compatible with structural/non-structural concrete (20-45 MPa) and other Renderoc mortars.
Key Advantages
-
Low Permeability: Polymer modification ensures resistance to water, carbon dioxide, and chlorides.
-
Strong Bond: Excellent adhesion to concrete substrates.
-
Ease of Use: Single component (pre-bagged) to eliminate site-batching errors; requires only water.
-
Chloride Free: Contains no chloride admixtures.
-
Fast Application: Can be applied quickly and efficiently.
Application Instructions
1. Preparation
-
Clean the surface of dust, oil, paint, grease, algae, and unsound material.
-
Roughen the surface (scrabbling or grit-blasting) to remove laitance and expose fine aggregate.
-
Saturate: Thoroughly soak the area with clean water to achieve a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition immediately before application.
2. Mixing
-
Ratio: 6.5 to 7.0 liters of water per 25 kg bag.
-
Method: Use a forced-action mixer or a slow-speed drill (400/500 rpm) with a spiral paddle (MR4).
-
Procedure: Pour water into the mixer, add powder, and mix for 3 to 5 minutes.
-
Important: Do not re-temper with extra water after mixing.
3. Curing
-
Moderate Conditions: No specific curing required.
-
Harsh Conditions (Wind/Heat): Cure immediately after finishing.
-
Recommended Method: Spray Nitobond AR as a continuous film or use polythene sheeting taped at the edges.
Storage
-
Store in dry conditions in original unopened bags.
-
High humidity or temperature may reduce shelf life to less than 6 months.
