Surface preparation

Saw cut or cut back the extremities of the repair locations to a depth of at least 10mm to avoid feather edging and to provide a square edge. Break out the complete repair area to a minimum depth of 10mm up to the saw edge.Clean the surface and remove any dust, unsound or contaminated material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae. Where breaking out is not required, roughen the surface and remove any laitance by light scabbling or grit sand blasting. Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser.The eff activeness of decontamination should then be assessed by a pull off test. For vertical renders the concrete substrate should have surface profile of min 500 microns.

Application of Epoxy Bonding Agent

Mix the base and hardener components of Nitobond EP, two component epoxy bonding agents with a paddle mixer for 3-5 minutes and brush apply in a thin layer over the prepared old constructive solutions Renderoc HS Xtra concrete substrate to be repaired and allow the epoxy bonding agent to become tacky. Tacky condition will exist from 1-2 hours @30oC from the application time.

The Secret: Renderoc HS Xtra doesn’t shrink. It uses DST (Dimensional Stability Technology) to lock the dimensions in place during the cure.

The “Hack” for Perfect Application:
Don’t just slap it on.

1. Cut Square: Feather edges peel. Square cuts (10mm+) stay put.

2. The Tacky Trick: Mix your Nitobond EP. Wait until it feels like sticky tape (about an hour). That is when you apply the Renderoc. If you apply it when the glue is wet, it slips. If it’s dry, it fails. Catch the tack.

3. The Mix: 4 Liters water + 1 Bag. Do not guess.
