1. Product Description

Renderoc Plug is a ready-to-use blend of dry powders requiring only the addition of clean water to produce a highly consistent, rapid-setting mortar. It is composed of a blend of cements, graded aggregates, special fillers, and chemical additives designed to control setting rates and minimize thermal cracking.

2. Primary Uses

Designed for the rapid, temporary patching and plugging of active water leaks in:

• Concrete segments and brick tunnel linings.

• Sewage systems and pipes.

• Below-ground access chambers.

• Basements and foundations.

• Mines.

4. Application Instructions

Step 1: Surface Preparation

• Cleaning: Areas to be patched must be brushed clean to remove loose material, dust, and laitance.

• Contaminants: Remove grease, slime, or mold via steam cleaning or high-pressure water jetting. Use a proprietary degreasing agent for oil/grease.

• Chasing: For leaks, crack openings must be chased out to a depth of approximately 20mm.

• Keying: The chase should always be undercut (dovetail shape) to avoid leaving a V-section. This ensures the plug locks into place.

• Cut Back: General patches should be cut back to a depth of 15mm to provide a mechanical key. Feather edges must be avoided.

Step 2: Mixing

• Ratio: 1 Part Clean Water : 3 Parts Renderoc Plug (by volume).

• Method: Mix to a stiff consistency in a suitable container using a trowel or gloved hand.

• Volume Warning: Due to the rapid setting time, only mix a quantity that can be placed immediately.

Step 3: Installation

• Apply by trowel or hand-knead the mixed mortar into place.

• Ensure maximum contact with the substrate before the material sets.

• For Running Water: Hold the material firmly in place against the leak until the initial set is reached and the water flow stops.

Step 4: Cleaning

• Clean tools and equipment immediately with clean water before the material sets.

• Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically.

5. Technical Specification & Design Criteria

• Orientation: Can be applied to horizontal, vertical, or overhead surfaces.

• Thickness: Single application volume is restricted to what can be applied by hand/trowel. Thicker sections should be built up in layers.

• Temperature Limitation: Do not use when the temperature is below 10°C and falling. (Note: The source text said “100C”, which is a likely typo for 10°C).

6. Storage & Shelf Life

• Shelf Life: 6 months.

• Storage Conditions: Must be kept in a dry store in the original, unopened pouch/bag.

7. Health & Safety

Precaution: Renderoc Plug contains cement powders. When mixed or damp, it releases alkalis which can be harmful to skin and eyes.

• PPE: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, eye protection, and respiratory protective equipment (mask).

• Skin Contact: Wash immediately with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and water. Use barrier creams for extra protection.

• Eye Contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.

• Ingestion: If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.

• Fire Safety: The product is non-flammable.
