Mapel® Planicrete SP – Multipurpose Latex Additive

Product Overview

Mapel® Planicrete SP is a greenish-white, multipurpose synthetic rubber latex additive. It is mixed with Portland cement and properly graded aggregates to produce high-performance mortars, screeds, and renders with exceptional bonding strength and durability.

Uses

• Preparation of high-performance mortar, screeds, and renders

• High-resistance screeds and levelling compounds (interior & exterior)

• Cement renders for walls and surfaces

• Bonding slurry for new screeds over old screeds or concrete

• Tile adhesive mortar for ceramic tiles (walls & floors)

• Thin-layer cement mortar applications

Technical Characteristics

• Excellent bonding strength

• High resistance to shock, vibration, and point loads

• Low water absorption

• Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles

• Performs well under temperature variations and aging

• Resistant to diluted chemical agents

Precautions

• Not suitable for surfaces with extreme flexing or vibration (wood boards, chipboard, asbestos board, etc.)
  👉 Use Kerabond + Isolastic, Adesilex P22, or Keralastic instead

• Do not use as a waterproof membrane
  👉 Use Mapelastic or Aquaflex

• Do not use neat; always mix with Portland cement

• Do not apply over fully dried slurry or screeds

• Do not mix with hydrated or hydraulic lime

• Not a strong chemical-resistant mortar (cover with Kerapoxy or Mapecoat I 24 if required)

• Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C

Surface Preparation

• Substrates must be sound, clean, and free from oil, dust, grease, paint, laitance, or contaminants

• Neutralize traces of acid or alkali

• Mechanically scarify smooth concrete surfaces

• New concrete must be minimum 28 days old

• Keep substrate moist for 24 hours before application (remove excess water before use)

• Turn off underfloor heating 48 hours before and 72 hours after application

Mixing Procedure

A. Mortar for Screeds & Levelling

1. Stir Planicrete SP thoroughly

2. Premix dry cement and sand

3. Gradually add dry mix into Planicrete SP while mixing

4. Mix to a stiff, workable, homogeneous consistency

B. Cement-Mortar Tile Adhesive

1. Pour required Planicrete SP into a clean container

2. Add premixed cement & sand slowly

3. Mix using low-speed mixer (~150 rpm)

4. Adjust consistency carefully if needed

Application Method

Floor Screed

• Apply slurry bond coat on damp substrate

• Spread screed while slurry is still wet

• Finish to ±3 mm tolerance over 3 m

Wall Plaster

• Apply spatter-dash coat one day prior

• Apply mortar to required thickness

• Press firmly to ensure mechanical bond

Curing & Traffic

• Floor screeds: No traffic for 24 hours

• Floor tiling: No traffic for 72 hours

Packaging

• 25 kg drum
