1. Product Description
Matex Fair Face Skim Coat and Waterproofing is a high-performance, polymer-modified, cement-based coating specially formulated for interior and exterior surfaces. It delivers an ultra-smooth, fair-faced finish while providing excellent water resistance, durability, and crack resistance.
This innovative two-in-one system acts both as a leveling compound and as a water-repellent surface protector, making it the ideal solution for construction projects where aesthetics and performance are equally critical. It is designed for plastered walls, ceilings, concrete surfaces, blockwork, precast panels, and fair-faced concrete.

5. Application Guidelines
A. Surface Preparation

Clean the surface thoroughly to remove dust, grease, oil, or loose particles.

Repair cracks, holes, and undulations with a suitable patching compound before skim coat application.

Important: Dampen the substrate with clean water prior to application, but avoid water ponding.
B. Mixing Instructions

Pour 4.5 – 5.5 liters of clean water into a mixing bucket.

Slowly add 25 kg of Matex Fair Face powder while mixing continuously.
-
Use an electric mixer or hand tool until a smooth, lump-free paste is achieved.
-
Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes, then remix briefly before application.
C. Application Method

Apply using a steel trowel in a thin layer (0.5 – 3 mm).

Use a sponge float or trowel to smooth the surface.
-
For Enhanced Waterproofing: Apply in two coats, allowing the first to cure before applying the second.

Note: Do not overwork the material or apply in extreme heat or rain.
D. Curing
-
Light curing with a water spray may be required in hot or dry conditions.
-
Avoid direct water contact for at least 24 hours after application.

Full curing takes approximately 7 days under standard conditions.
6. Storage & Packaging

Packaging: Available in 25 kg moisture-resistant bags.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Stacking: Do not stack more than 10 bags high.
7. Safety Precautions

Use protective gloves, goggles, and a mask during application.
