Application Instructions
1. Surface Preparation
-
Clean the Substrate: Remove dust, oil, grease, loose materials, curing compounds, and coatings that may hinder adhesion.
-
Repair Voids and Cracks: Fill cracks and uneven areas using appropriate repair materials before applying PC-Conrend® FC.
-
Pre-wetting: Saturate the surface with water for at least 2–4 hours prior to application. The substrate should be damp (SSD condition) but not waterlogged.
-
Check Compatibility: Avoid application on painted or gypsum-based surfaces. For unknown substrates, perform a patch test.
2. Mixing
-
Pour 6.5 – 7 liters of clean water into a mixing container for each 25 kg bag.
-
Gradually add PC-Conrend® FC powder while mixing continuously using a slow-speed heavy-duty drill (400–600 rpm) with a paddle attachment.
-
Mix for about 3 minutes until a smooth, lump-free consistency is achieved.
-
Allow the mix to stand for 2–3 minutes, then remix for 15–30 seconds before application.
-
Note: Use within 40 minutes of mixing to ensure workability.
3. Application Procedure
-
Apply the mixed compound using a steel trowel or spray equipment.
-
Firmly press the material into pinholes and imperfections.
-
Allow the surface to partially set before applying the final smooth layer.
-
For a polished finish, lightly sprinkle water and re-trowel using a sponge or steel float.
-
For multi-layer application, ensure the first layer has set but not fully dried before applying the next coat.
4. Curing
Proper curing is essential to achieve optimum strength and adhesion.
-
After the final coat, cure the surface using PC-Buildcure® WB or by misting water periodically for 24–48 hours to prevent premature drying and shrinkage cracks.
