Sika MonoTop®-108 Water Plug IN
Rapid-Setting Mortar for Instant Leak Plugging
Product Description
Sika MonoTop®-108 Water Plug IN is a high-performance, rapid-setting repair mortar engineered to instantly stop flowing water leaks in concrete and masonry. Designed for emergency applications, this ready-to-use compound cures in seconds, forming a durable, watertight seal even under high hydrostatic pressure.
It is the ideal solution for basements, tunnels, retaining walls, manholes, and other below-grade structures. It can be applied directly to wet substrates, underwater, and is compatible with potable water systems.

Application Instructions
1. Substrate Preparation
The surface must be clean and sound. Remove all loose material, grease, oil, and dust. Saturate the surface with water before application, ensuring no standing water remains (Saturated Surface Dry).
2. Mixing
-
Wear protective gloves.
-
Mix only enough material to use within 30–45 seconds.
-
Add water gradually to the powder and mix by hand until a putty-like consistency is achieved.
3. Application
-
Mould the mixed mortar into a plug shape using a gloved hand.
-
Immediate Application: Press the mortar firmly into the leaking void or hole.
-
Hold: Apply constant pressure for 30–60 seconds until the mortar has set rigid.
-
Finish: Once the leak has stopped, scrape off excess material with a spatula or trowel for a flush finish.
4. Special Situations
-
Wash-outs: If water pressure washes away part of the plug, repeat the application until the flow stops completely.
-
High Pressure: For excessive pressure, drill relief holes around the main leak to reduce force. Seal the main point first, then plug the relief holes.
Safety & Basis of Data
-
Safety: Always wear protective gloves, goggles, and a dust mask. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for health and safety details.
-
Disclaimer: All data is based on laboratory tests. Actual measurements may vary due to field conditions.
