Application Guidelines
Substrate Preparation
-
Concrete ≥ 25 N/mm² compressive strength and ≥ 1.5 N/mm² tensile strength.
-
Prepare surface by shot blasting, grinding, or sandblasting to remove contaminants.
-
Repair cracks and holes with suitable Sika systems.
-
Substrate moisture < 8% (measured by Sika® Tramex or CM method).
Mixing
-
Mix Part D (pigment) into Part A, add Part B, then slowly add Part C.
-
Stir for at least 2 minutes at 400–600 rpm, scraping sides for homogeneity.
Application
-
Primer: Apply evenly with trowel or squeegee (~2.0 kg/m²).
-
Topcoat: Apply 3–5 mm thickness using trowel, then de-aerate with a roller (6–10 kg/m²).
-
Ensure sufficient manpower for large areas to maintain wet edges and colour consistency.
Curing & Ready for Use
| Temperature | Foot Traffic | Light Traffic | Full Cure |
|---|---|---|---|
| +20°C (4 mm) | 10–12 hours | 14–16 hours | 5 days |
Maintenance & Cleaning
Regular cleaning enhances durability and appearance. Standard industrial scrubbers and approved detergents can be used. In food processing areas, hygiene-compliant cleaning chemicals are safe without affecting performance.
Limitations
-
Not suitable for vertical or suspended surfaces (use Sika Ucrete RG).
-
Steam cleaning may cause delamination; for such cases, use Sika Ucrete UD200.
-
Avoid mixing different batch numbers in the same area to ensure colour consistency.
-
Apply only at +10°C to +30°C substrate temperature.
